The ISBC Hilali Committee ascended the tower at Florida Institute of Technology tonight, and were unable to sight the moon. Furthermore, nations in the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, and East Asia did not sight the moon tonight. The Executive Committee consulted the Hilali Committee, and came to the final decision that Thursday, June 18 will be the first day of Ramadan.
Tarawih prayers will begin Wednesday night immediately after Isha’ prayer, and the first iftar will be Thursday night.
