Ramadan 2021 moon sighting updates:

Traditionally, Ramadan begins with the sighting of the crescent moon, which generally appears one night after the new moon, meaning the start date cannot be precisely predicted.

EC of ISBC  has reportedly urged the community members to look out for the crescent moon on Sunday 11 April and report their findings to the EC committee. After Salat al-Maghrib, The EC moon-sighting committee reported that due to hampered by weather conditions in our region tomorrow will the 30th of Sha’ban, and Tuesday will be the first day of Ramadan.

It’s a beautiful experience to sight its emergence, and it is a Sunnah of our prophet Mohammed ﷺ that we hope the Ummah revives.

Jumuah Announcement

Brs and sisters assalamualikum, hope you all doing well.

The number of Corona virus cases are increasing in Florida. 2500-2700 new cases are diagnosed every day. Florida may be next epicenter. We have to be more vigilant. EC has decided to implement mandatory mask policy while praying in the masjid. Continue to bring prayer rug from home, maintain physical distance and do lots of isthigfar. Without mask and prayer rug, please pray outside.

If you are sick  stay home. We ask Allaha SWT for guidance and protection.

Jazak Allah Khair

Islamic Society of Brevard County

O mankind!  We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).

Quran 49:13

“I Can’t Breathe!!!  These are few of the final words exclaimed by George Floyd as he was murdered by four Minneapolis City Police officers on May 25, 2020.

O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses of Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives.  Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is more worthy of both. So, follow no (personal) inclination, lest you not be just. And if you distort (your testimony) or refuse (to give it), then indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted.

Quran 4:135

The Islamic Society of Brevard County stands in solidarity with right minded people and various protesters around the world.  Those who are raising their voices against the injustice perpetrated on people of color here in America and abroad by law enforcement and “ordinary citizens”.  While we encourage the peacefully protesting at all levels, we strongly discourage the use of violence and vandalism as a tool for change.  Our collective history has taught us that if we want change at the minimum, we must protest to bring public attention, petition, and vote to affect change and build strategic partnerships and authentic allies

We each have a role to play and we all directly or indirectly benefit from the work many are doing on the frontlines. At ISBC, we are committed to helping to further this goal.

Peace be upon you.

May Allah accept our prayers and efforts!

Announcment from the EC

Brothers and sisters assalamualikum,
Hope everyone is doing well, we ask Allah SWT to protect us all.
Ramadan is approaching, we ask Allah SWT for its blessing.

The EC had a meeting last night( 6 members) along with the Shura chairman and Imam participation and made sorrowful, albeit unanimous decision.
1: There will be no salat taraweeh in this Ramadan.

2: There will be no iftar inside the masjid. Those who want to sponsor Iftar, will have to arrange boxed food for distribution between Asar and Maghrub salat.

3: There will be khatra on Zoom, inshallah, everyday before Maghrub salt followed by Azan.

We ask Allaha SWT to make this Ramadan the best for everyone and remove this epidemic from the entire globe.

Feel free to contact for comment or question.
